The MultI-Engine rating allows pilots to operate aircraft with multiple engines, Exact requirements may vary, but general requirements under the ( FAA ) Federal Aviation Authority include:
1. Pre-requisites:
-You must hold at minimum a Private Pilot License.
-You must be at least 18 years old.
-You must hold a third-class medical certifica
2.Training:
You will receive ground instruction covering multi-engine aerodynamics, systems performance, and emergency procedures.
You will receive complete flight training in a multI-engine aircraft to learn the differences in handling, performance,and systems compared to single-engine aircraft.
You will practice normal and emergency procedures, including engine failures, Vmc demonstrations, and asymmetric flight.
3. Flight Hours:
Multi engine rating is based on demonstrated competency. Our average student demonstrates competency at around 10 hours of flight time.
4. Written Exam:
Pass a written knowledge test specific to multi-engine operations.
5. Checkride:
You will need to pass a practical flight test with an FAA-designated examiner. During the checkride, you will need to demonstrate your ability to safely operate a multi-engine aircraft, perform various maneuvers, and handle emergency procedures.
6. Endorsement:
Upon successful completion of the training and passing the checkride, you will receive an endorsement in your logbook signifying that you are now rated to fly a multi-engine aircraft.
