To become an Airline Transportation Pilot
( ATP ) there are several guidelines set forth by the Federal Aviation Association .
This is a guideline of the general requirements:
1. Age:
You must be at least 23 years old.
2.You must be able speak, write, and understand the English language fluently. The English language is the international language of aviation.
3. Experience:
You must have a minimum amount of flight experience, which typically includes:
- Hold a Commercial Pilots license with an Instrument Rating.
- Log a minimum number of flight hours determined by the FAA. This typically includes 1500 hours of total flight time, including 500 hours of cross-country time, 100 hours of night-time, 50 hours in the class of airplane for the rating, 75 hours of instrument rating, and 250 hours of pilot in command.

You must pass the flowing FAA knowledge tests:
ATP Practical Test: This includes both an oral exam and a flight test.
5. Additional Requirements:
-30 hours of classroom instruction
-10 hours of simulator training
(including 6 hours in a Level C or higher full flight simulator)
